Member Guidelines

Welcome to D.R.I.V.E.! We are a Christian group for homeschooled teens who are interested in making new friends and serving our community. We believe that when we combine the skills, talents and vision that God has blessed us with in a manner that glorifies Him, we are able to accomplish truly amazing things.

Dedication
Responsibility
Initiative
Vision
Enthusiasm

As a D.R.I.V.E. member, you will have the opportunity to share your strengths and inspiration within a group that is warm, supportive and welcoming. We value the uniqueness of each individual, understanding that it adds to the strength of the group.

We believe that in reaching out to the community in various ways, we can demonstrate Christ's love to the lost and less fortunate.

Meetings

D.R.I.V.E. members meet every other week to participate in social activities and community service projects. There will be at least one social activity and one community service project each month. Teens will take turns in helping to plan D.R.I.V.E. events.

Participation

We encourage teens to attend as many D.R.I.V.E. events as they can. We understand that teens can have a full schedule and that sometimes it is not possible to attend an event. To help develop leadership skills and encourage participation, members will be awarded points for each D.R.I.V.E. activity or community service project that they participate in.

Social activity= 1 point
Community service project= 2 points
Refer a new member= 3 points

In order to ensure that points are correctly recorded, members should check in with the D.R.I.V.E. administrator to sign the attendance sheet as they arrive for each event. Points are tallied until May 1st of each year. The three teens with the most points at that time will be awarded the D.R.I.V.E. Leadership Award.

Conduct and Dress

As representatives of the Christian faith, all members are expected to act accordingly. The following guidelines will help ensure that all teens enjoy the group:

 All members are responsible for helping to make all who attend our group activities and events feel welcome and comfortable. Gossiping and cruel teasing have no place within a group that is called to witness of Christ's love.
 Profanity and lewd behavior will not be tolerated. Consequences can range from written warning to expulsion from the group and are made on a case by case basis and at the discretion of the D.R.I.V.E. Administrator.
 God made each of us beautiful in our own special way. Out of respect for their bodies and themselves, members should dress modestly. Please, no revealing clothing, uncovered tank tops or spaghetti straps, underwear showing or short shorts/skirts. Midriffs should be covered. Clothing should not bear messages that are contrary to the Christian faith.

Message Boards

D.R.I.V.E. message boards have been established for your information and enjoyment. All events and activities will be posted on the message boards and calendar within the D.R.I.V.E. forums. You can access the message boards by visiting our home page at www.ABQTeenDrive.com and clicking on the link that says “Forums” on the left side of the page.

With the exception of the section “What is D.R.I.V.E.?”, all forums as well as the calendar are accessible by registered D.R.I.V.E. members only. This is for your privacy and protection. Parents and teens are welcome to sign up for the forums separately if they desire as there are some areas specifically for teens and others for parents.

Although the forums are restricted to members only, please always use only your first name (never include your last name or physical address) when posting a new thread or a response to an existing thread. Since everyone will have a different user name, we should be able to easily differentiate between members who may have the same first name, but if you wish, you can also include the first letter of your last name.

Please remember to always be respectful on the forums. All forums are monitored by moderators. Any inappropriate content will be removed immediately and parents will be notified.

Parental Supervision

Parents are ultimately responsible for the actions and behavior of their teens at all times. If a parent feels their teen is not yet ready or mature enough to be left alone with the group during D.R.I.V.E. events, they should plan to remain onsite for the duration of the event.

Parents are welcome at all events. If a parent decides to drop their teen off for any event, they should make sure that the D.R.I.V.E. Administrator has appropriate emergency contact information as a matter of precaution. Parents should make every effort to be prompt in picking up their teen if they do not remain onsite.

Parents are also encouraged to volunteer to assist in the administrative functions of the group. If you have a skill or talent that you would like to share, let us know- we can put it to good use!
